F.A. DAVIS PUBLISHING

Retail Education / Learning

Challenge:
Publishing house wanted to create a DVD Collection to go with their "Fundamentals of Nursing" textbook to allow students to see how nursing procedures are administered. The DVDs needed to feature three different learning styles and accommodate for online learning.

Solution:
Beholder worked with the FA Davis team and author to produce 3 versions of over 150 procedures. Complete production services included:

  • script-writing and pre-production including casting, location scouting, talent acquisitions
  • field production with over 50-hours of footage,
  • over 3 months of video editing on our Avid Editing Systems,
  • Graphics & Animation Services, DVD Authoring,
  • and New Media applications to produce web videos for online learning.

Results:
The 3 learning styles offered excellent tools for the students which helped improve retention of the information. The ROI was experienced within the first full adoption of the text and DVD Collection by a major university.








Main Line Health System

Patient Safety, Patient Education & Staff Training

Challenge:
Main Line Health Hospitals needed to offer effective staff training and patient safety/ education.

Solution:
Since 2003, Beholder produced a variety of training and safety programs for Main Line Health. Complete video and multimedia production services were provided to:

  • prepare nurses for Magnet Status Reviews (which they won!);
  • offer patient safety and education through Main Line Health – TV for each hospital in the system;
  • and offer patient education as to their experience with a variety of imaging services including x-ray, CT scans, mammography, etc.

Results:
Increased awareness and retention; improved communication from the hospital to staff and patients; and encouraged a sense of community and responsibility through Main Line Health. The programs also enabled the hospital system to provide JCAHO and the state reviewers proof of their education and training efforts.










LA SALLE UNIVERSITY

Recruitment

Challenge:
La Salle University needed to create a program to recruit prospective students to earn a degree in the new major, Integrated Science & Business Technology (isbt), and needed to inform corporations about sponsorships, internships and corporate relations with the University.

Solution:
Beholder created an Interactive CD with targeted video vignettes and a campaign entitled, “What if?”
With effective project management, we utilized students and professors to give a first-hand testimonials to the benefits of isbt.  The video was shot using a variety of camera angles, ensuring great story-telling, and strategic programming to produce a cohesive final piece.

Results:
La Salle University increased the awareness of the new major, recruited record numbers for the program, and improved their visibility within the corporate sector.











Kamms

e-Learning/ Teaching Program

Challenge:
KAMMS created “Spanish on the Job” a fast, convenient way to learn Spanish based on your profession. KAMMS needed videos to go along with these materials to help further their teaching applications.

Solution:
Beholder produced several “Spanish on the Job” videos for the Construction, Hospitality and Restaurant industries. Our services included:

  • project management
  • script editing
  • studio shoot
  • complete graphics and animations
  • video editing and DVD authoring
  • online web videos were also prepared to enhance the learning experience.

Results:
Increased sales with an improved video package, enhanced on-the-job knowledge, and improved referral base for KAMMS product lines.











BIOCOMPRESSION SYSTEMS

Product Demonstration

Challenge:
Bio Compression Systems needed to create a product demo to give to sales reps, as well as, send along with their compression products.

Solution:
Beholder handled all script-writing, pre-production, talent and location acquisition, shooting, video editing, DVD authoring, and graphics package to make the product demonstration an easy to follow guide for all who utilized the application.

Results:
Increased sales, improved product knowledge and improved referral base for their product lines.










“ULTIMATE VOICE COACH” featuring Paula Abdul & Randy Jackson

Retail How-To Program

Challenge: 
With less than a week’s notice, the Beholder crew was contracted to fly to LA and shoot a three-camera production featuring two of the nation’s leading voice coaches to the stars.  And then create a retail DVD to sell to the mass consumer public.  Not to mention, two of the hottest names in the music industry, “Paula Abdul & Randy Jackson.”

Solution:
With an in-house crew, we packed up and headed west with all of our production gear in tow! 
Complete production services included but weren’t limited to: 

  • script-editing and script writing on the set
  • complete field video production gathering almost 30-hours of footage
  • a tight video editing schedule – turnover in less than 4 weeks
  • DVD Authoring utilizing advanced Dual Layer technology
  • Audio editing and programming for Audio CDs
  • Multiple versions for standard retail and QVC versions.

Results:

Amazing sales across the United States, as the DVD box set was found in all major retail stores!  Students across the nation could learn great voice training techniques by top professionals.











Disney

Employee Orientation

Challenge:
The Disney Corporation had a major influx of Spanish speaking employees. All of the HR materials and seven Orientation videos needed to have Spanish voice over and subtitling.

Solution:
Beholder worked with a language translation company to translate the scripts of the original videos into Spanish. We held voice over auditions to accommodate for the numerous characters on the videos, performed the audio recording, audio and video editing, and included Spanish subtitling for the programs.

Results:
The programs enhanced the orientation process for the new employees and enabled Disney to be in compliance with training applications.









IHOP - International house of pancakes

Training

Challenge:
IHOP needed an effective means of teaching new chefs the “IHOP cooking method.”

Solution:
Beholder worked with an LA based agency to produce and shoot all aspects of the cooking training program. We went on location to several IHOP’s, followed the head chef and captured great footage over a course of one week.

Results:

Now… Our crew and all new IHOP cooks can make perfect 5 inch pancakes and a great breakfast!
